Our Little Gymnast

Lilee has started taking Gymnastics & it was slow going, but she has warmed up to it. The first day the people let us try it for free to even see if she would do it, well, we walked in & she immediately started SCREAMING & crying "I don't want to" over & over again. Mind you all the while I am right there with her, she isn't alone because this is a parents participation class. ANYWAY...she then says she has to go potty, so out we go & she instantly stops crying & she is all smiles again. So, I told her this is something we are going to try & if she doesn't like it we can stop. So, when we went back in she STILL didn't want to do the stretching exercises so I just let her whine & roll all around the mat. Then it was time for the trampoline & she was VERY unsure, but the other girls where having so much fun. Being the big girl she is she climbed up there & started jumping like a cricket & she hasn't looked back! It has been three weeks of class & she LOVES her class & she can't wait for Tuesday's to come so she can go to "Nastics" So, needless to say.......we signed her up for the class :D

She really isn't sure of the bar because for 1. her little hands don't go all the way around it yet or 1/2 way for that matter & 2. After you are done "swinging" on the bar, you drop into the foam pit & Lilee isn't very sure of that yet. I told her teacher though that I would rather her do it than her be terrified of it forever. So, just like on the trampoline her teacher "helps" her into the foam pit. I know I'm soooooo mean :D

Two Birthday parties

Last weekend we went home to celebrate two birthday's. One was my Papa's, he turned 90, I know 90! I am blessed that Lilee has the love of Grandparents AND Great Grandparents!!! The other was my nephew Eli who turned 7. It was really nice to see all my family & my sister & brother in law flew in from Florida. We had so much fun. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera at my Papa's party, but it was a wonderful celebration of him & it was neat to see all my extended family :D

After that it was party time for Eli! Of course Lilee was much more animated there because there wasn't as many people. She feels really comfortable around her "core" family groups, but she is still really shy around lots of people she doesn't see very often. Luckily, I did have my camera for that party!

I just want to say how blessed I am to have my sisters! We went out just the girls & our husbands & we had so much fun. I love having sisters, especially THESE sisters :D

On Sunday after Church Lilee spent some time with her other cousins Sarah & Amber, we got some really good pictures.



THEN.....we went to our good friend Melissa & Shawn's house for a little Chinese New Year get together. Their daughter is Leah or Weewah (per Lilee). As Melissa says, our girls are destined to be forever friends. They are a wonderful family & I pull strength from Melissa. She is so uplifting & positive, her outlook is amazing. I'm thankful to be able to call her my friend :D

Time for a cut

We have never cut Lilee's hair. Not even a trim. Since the very first day in Chongqing until now her hair has just taken off. People even ask us how old she is because they assume since she has so much hair that she is older. Here she is in Chongqing.... April 2006

So, I was looking at her hair the other day & it really was time for a trim. I asked my mom to do it for us since I didn't think Lilee would sit for anyone else. My mom who so bravely said yes did a wonderful job! But I think next time I will cut more off!

By the way....I saved some of hair that we did cut off because I just couldn't throw away her cute little spikes that she had the day we became a family!!!!

A look back

*I got this idea from my sweet friend Melissa's blog* and goodness when I went back and looked at pictures from Lilee from this past year, it amazes me. She has changed so much & it blows me away. What a sweet, sassy, stuborn (she gets it from Chuck), loving, beautiful little GIRL she is turning into. She is no longer a baby and she will tell that to anyone that asks. She proudly says "I'm a big goul"...... We had so much fun in 2007, so here's to 2008....now, for a look back

Paranoia is setting in

Okay, is there anyone out there? Hopefully everyone is still checking in, but on our old blog I used to get comments all the time. Hopefully it is just because maybe you don't know where to comment?? Now, I'm not saying you HAVE to post, but I was just checking to see if everyone made it over here from the old blog! So, here is a quick tutorial... after each post the word comment is at the end, if you just click that word, it will pull up a separate box, (if you have pop up blocker you might have to deactivate it), it says "leave your comment".
